5 All-You-Can-Eat in Sydney That You Must Try

Restaurants, all-you-can-eat in Sydney, and I are like two peas in a pod. I have enjoyed eating in all-you-can-eat restaurants for as long as I can remember.  We are inseparable!

I have tried quite a lot of all-you-can-eat restaurants in Sydney for the last decade and I have seen some come and go. However, there are a handful restaurants that I have frequented throughout the years.  Here they are (in alphabetical order)…

5 all-you-can-eat in Sydney that you must try

    Braza

When I think about Braza, I can imagine their great meat quality. They also have the perfect way to rotate your meat options (you will less likely encounter the same cuts unless you specifically ask for it). The Braza in Darling Harbour also has Brazilian dancers on the weekend.

    Churrasco

Churrasco is my first ever foray into the Brazilian all-you-can-eat scene. I have been going to this restaurant since they only had one restaurant in Coogee. They started off as pure meat all-you-can-eat with vegetables as an optional extra. However, they have added the vegetables as part of the package since then.

We usually ask for buckets of the chimichurri sauce and tomato salsa as they go really well with the meat.

    Feast

Feast at Sheraton on The Park is like the high-end version of all-you-can-eat. It is located in a prime real estate in Sydney, facing Hyde Park!

Feast is known for their massive range of cold seafood. When you arrive at the restaurant, you will be greeted by assortments of crabs, oysters, and prawns. Their desserts range is also second to none.

    Suminoya

Suminoya used to be the undisputed favourite of ours. However, in the last 8 years, the price has gone up 150% and they took away the charcoal and replaced it with electric BBQ.

They still have the best options for all-you-can-eat. You can have wagyu beef, sashimi and other assortments of Japanese food. They are also the most technologically-advanced with touch screen ordering system… not having to explain what you need and just have food delivered to you is a very nice perk to have!

    Website: https://www.facebook.com/SUMINOYA.BBQ/

    Wagyu House

In terms of quality, wagyu house will not be able to compete against the other four. However, this Korean BBQ restaurant costs less than half of most restaurants on this list. It doesn’t have many seafood options but it has a massive range of Korean side dishes.

  • Braza Leichhardt

    Braza Leichhardt

    Braza Leichhardt Review:

We visited Braza in Darling Harbour back in 2013. Braza has been one of our favourite all you can eat restaurants in Sydney ever since. Our review this week is from its main branch (if I’m not mistaken) at Leichhardt in Sydney. Braza Leichhardt has been around for longer than the Darling Harbour one. It is located near the entrance of Leichhardt in Norton Street.

The best thing about Braza Leichhardt is their ability to rotate the supply of meat. Most of the time when you go to have dinner in this kind of restaurant, you will get the cheap cuts… but not Braza. They are able to give you variety of cuts throughout the course of your dinner.

Their menu is still the same. It is plain and simple $49 and you can eat as much as you want.

    Side Dishes

Braza has quite a few different side dishes for you to choose from. However, instead of presenting them all on your table, you have to order. There is an exception for the cheese balls where you can only have a limit of one cheese ball per person.

    Beef

There are way too many cuts to remember. Obviously being in a Brazilian restaurant, you want to get your hands on their most famous beef cuts: Picanha (or Rump Cap).

    Chicken

It is easier with chicken as you can only have chicken thigh or breast. However, in addition to those two, you can also get chicken hearts, chicken drumsticks and sometimes chicken with bacon!

There are also a whole assortments of pork like pork belly and chorizo.

    Ribs

This is the bit that I love the most about Braza Leichhardt: the ribs! I love good ribs! What about unlimited supply of good ribs? Even better!

    Seafood

Seafood is also probably one of Braza’s strongest offerings. Despite only having two types of seafood, fish wrapped in leaf and prawns, they are still two more than most churrasco restaurants.

    Desserts

They are not really sophisticated desserts. However, it is enough to end the night with. Obviously, you could also end the night with a couple of caipirinhas!

The final verdict for Braza Leichhardt

I’m sure you know how my verdict will be considering that Braza is one of our favourites! The Leichhardt branch is no different… or probably slightly better than the Darling Harbour one!

    Did you know?
Just in case Leichhardt and Darling Harbour is too far for you, Braza also has restaurants in Manly and Miranda.

    Review:

    Braza

I wanted to say Braza Churrascaria is just another all you can eat Brazilian restaurant that’s been flooding Sydney over the years… but I just couldn’t!

    Why?

I’ll skip the part of explaining what Churrascaria is (you can look at the ‘Did you know?’ section) and let you know why I think you MUST visit this place. Look at the menu below or in this link and see an extensive list of things you can eat (including side dishes).

    Braza Menu

Let’s start with the obvious Rump Cap or Picanha. Seriously, if a Brazilian restaurant doesn’t serve a great picanha, don’t return! Picanha is the core element of a churrascaria. Still in the beef department, they also have flank, rump, hump and Scotch Fillet. The meat quality in Braza restaurant was incredible.

    Beef Churrascaria

I have limited knowledge of food from the pork department. They have an assortment of Neck, Leg, and Belly. From the look of it, they were the least appealing in the restaurant. Strangely enough, you also got a chance to see a whole pig / pork meat sitting on the wooden trolley. They only have two lamb dishes: Leg and Rump. Both were nice and cooked correctly (i.e. no smelly lamb taste).

    Braza Pork

We’re now on to the white meat of chicken. They have a decent range from chicken with bacon to chicken hearts. They also have Chicken Drummetes and fillet. Personally, I love chicken hearts and can easily have a dozen of them.

    Chicken Churrascaria

Braza’s seafood range was extensive on easter with the addition of mussels and octopus. However, they were only limited to Fish and Prawns in a normal day. However, if you see the fish plate, please ask as much as you can. They were heaps good! I am not a big fan of the Chorizo in Braza. I think they were quite dry and tough.

    Braza Fish

So now we are on to the best part: Braza Churrascaria’s ribs. They prepared the ribs in a slightly different way. They would wheel around gigantic slab(s) of ribs on a wooden trolley and slice the meat in front of you.  The ribs were really the highlight of the day. They were succulent, juicy, and best of all, not burnt! You can have an option of Beef ribs, Pork ribs, or Lamb ribs.

    z6-Ribs  Braza Ribs

They have Halloumi Cheese, Pineapple and Garlic Bread as the main churrascaria offered. I had no less than five slices of fabulous pineapple throughout the night. You might want to slow down on the cheese and bread if you didn’t want to be full too fast.

    Braza Plates

They handled the side dishes quite differently. Instead of circling around the table, you will need to order them specifically. My favourite was Polenta chips. They were really nice and crunchy. We also always have a supply of Brazilian Chilies, Farofafa, and Tomato Salsa because I like a bit more flavour on my meat.

The final verdict for Braza Churrascaria

Braza Churrascaria is hands down the best Brazilian restaurant in Sydney. The assortments and quality of meat are unrivaled to those other Brazilian restaurants in Sydney. The only downside to their otherwise excellent review was the unavailability of complementing sauce. It’s a very minor item but unfortunately I like sauce on my meat.

    Braza Churrascaria

    Did you know?

When we were there on Saturday at around 8 PM, they had a Brazilian dance a la Carnaval de Rio with very loud Brazilian drums.

Braza Churrascaria Performance  Braza Churrascaria Performance

For those of you new to the concept, Churrascaria is a place where meat is cooked in Churrasco style. The meat is grilled to perfection with an iron skewer on a fireplace. The waiters and waitresses would then go around the table offering those meats and you could decide whether you wanted it or not (no obligation to take everything they offered!).

    Review:

If you are familiar with the name Churrasco, that is because I did the review about this restaurant more than two years ago. Churrasco review was one of my first ones. Back in those days, Churrasco had just one vegetarian dish in their all-you-can-eat arsenal. They even charged us extra for a bowl of vegetables.

    Churrasco Restaurant

Since then, they have opened in two other locations, increased their quality, services, ambience, and last – but not least- they have also included vegetables! So, despite the unavoidable increase in price, the value was pretty much justified, considering that other high-end Brazilian restaurants also charges between these regions. Waitresses still go around the restaurant offering slices of meat to your plate.

    Churrasco Menu

    Nakula Coconut Water

Let’s now start with the new menu, vegetables. I am still not a big fan of them, but at least they have my favourite, Rocket Salad with balsamic vinegar. They also added french fries, tomato and capsicum salad, eggplant and capsicum antipasto-style (not shown in picture). You can still get Zucchini and cheese. I will introduce other new stuff according to their classification.

    The New Stuff

To get the real feeling of Churrasco, the next couple of pictures were from its skewers. Only Churrasco’s chicken range utilises this method. Their common chicken range is the Brazilian Chicken.  They also have a new Sweet Soy Chicken that was really yummy when grilled to perfection. Other chicken range includes: sausages, wings, and -the one I can never get enough of- chicken hearts.

    Brazilian Chickens Other skewers

Special to Wednesday-only, Churrasco’s Beef Ribs are worth fighting for! The beef range has lots of staple food like Rump Steak and new Pepper Beef. They also have a couple more new beef in Chilli Beef and Mushroom beef. I didn’t get the pictures of their already-extensive beef range: Sirloin steak, scotch fillet, eye fillet amongst other things. Their condiments also got a little face-lift in the addition of Chilli sauce. Farofa is now strictly by request. They also trialled polenta, before they pulled it out of the menu.

    Churrasco Beef

    Condiments at Churrasco

Lastly, the following dishes could be considered rarities since they were served once in like half an hour. Their newest range, Banana Fritter, was my instant favourite.  The banana was both crunchy and sweet. My previous favourites, cheese bread and grilled cheese were still served and tasted as good. Grilled pineapple is kind of a cat in the bag. You can sometimes get a really sweet one but other times it would be really sour.

    The Good Stuff

The final verdict for Churrasco – revisited

I would like to give more score for this restaurant, but its occasional inconsistencies in the way the dishes are cooked prevented me from doing so. The new additions to the menu gave us an increased experience to the dining in Churrasco. Although it is still predominated by meat dishes, I now leave the restaurant with much happier feeling and not stuffed.

    Review:

When I first heard about Fuego Barbecue and Grill, curiosity sparked within me. There is a decent Brazilian/Mexican restaurant in Bandung. The restaurant is located in the mountain part of Bandung overlooking the city. Just like any other part of the city, the road leads to the restaurant is incredibly crowded, especially weekends, but the restaurant gave us a nice first impression. It is beautifully designed with wooden furniture. The grill is located in the centre where people can see the chef grilling our dinner. It gave us a cosy and spacious feeling with little noise.

For starters, we ordered Cajun Salad and Cheddar Stix. Although not decorated nicely, the salad gave us a spicy Brazilian feel to it. They even put unpeeled, grilled slices of orange. The Cheddar Stix was awesome! Deep fried into golden brown of perfection, 5 stix were laid on top of a bed of vegetables. They were accompanied by spicy (and tasty) Brazilian sauce.

They have a range of Brazilian as well as Indonesian-styled BBQ menu. Unfortunately the one that I chose (first item on the menu!), American Back Ribs, was sold out. So I ordered their Chef’s suggested Steak, Chimichurri Beef. I highly anticipated the Steak since Chimichurri is THE Brazilian sauce. However it didn’t taste or look like the Chimichurri I’ve ever had. The sauce looked like a pile of sliced chilli and garlic with some oil poured all over my steak. It was nice, garlic-y and spicy, but it was different.

I had a taste on Rosemary Beef and Honey Glazed Ribs. It took forever to prepare, the minced beef on a Rosemary stick was not to my liking. The rosemary overpowered the beef, thus it was too much fragrance. I loved its unique presentation and idea. Honey glazed ribs was by far the best meal of the night. The ribs were grilled perfectly. It had strong BBQ taste, yet the meat was still very tender and juicy.

For dessert we ordered Apple Fritters and Chocolate Pizza. The slices of Apple were deep fried with a chocolate-decorated plate and a side of whipped cream and strawberry. The apple was a bit too sour for me. The filling was nice. Layered of chocolate and fruits, topped with Parmesan cheese was beautiful to end the night with. It was only spoiled by the fact that the pizza base was undercooked. It still had the flour-y taste on it.

As with most restaurant in Bandung, they have traditional drinks on their menu. I ordered Bajigur on this occasion. Bajigur is a hot ginger drink with slices of coconut. It was the perfect drink for rainy or cold weather.

    Did you know?

Just like Malang, Bandung is the place to be for Jakarta people to spend their weekend away. However, unlike Malang, the city roads were poorly maintained and traffic can get really ugly, with bikes and public transports seemingly ignoring the traffic rules. If you want to get the idea of Bandung, I would suggest you to drive around the city after 1 AM (no kidding!), or you’ll be stuck in the traffic.

Despite their traffic nightmare, the city itself gave us a glimpse of Indonesian history and the people are incredibly creative and musical. The food… Wow! Highly imaginative with combination never been seen before, but sometimes it can be devastatingly horrid.

    Review:

The first thing you need to know about Churrasco Brazilian style BBQ: All You Can Eat Steak. So, please empty your stomach before you heads out to Churrasco. Also, as with every other famous restaurant: book in advance to avoid disappointment.

They have a unique style of serving your meal. Waiters will walk up and down the restaurant offering you the meat they have on the plate or skewers. They give you a two-sided, coloured badge that is used to indicate whether you want to eat or rest. Normally, I just put mine on Green all the way. Sim, Por Favor ^_^

If I may categorise, their churrascaria is divided into two: the common lot and the uncommon dishes.Throughout the night, they will give out the common beef cuts like Sirloin, Rump, Eye Fillet, Scotch Fillet and BBQ Chicken. But, you must keep an eye on the uncommon ones that only passes once every 15 minutes or so. Sausages, lamb, ham, and pork are among the uncommon dishes.

There is one particular dish that I love the most: the Cheese Bread. It is the tastiest bread I’ve ever eaten! This dish rarely comes out, only once every half hour. It’s basically cheese that is baked and plumped like bread, but it still retains the rubbery and tasty feel of a cheese.

To accompany the meal, you will be given three sauces (chimichurri, farofa, vinagrete) and three side dishes (Rice, Red Beans, and Potatoes).I will give you an explanation of what the sauces are since most of you have never heard about it before. As you can see from the pic, Chimichurri is the orange sauce, farofa is the one that look like bread crumb, and vinagrete is the tomato vinegar. I suggest you to mix the chimichurri with farofa to start of with and add vinagrete towards the end of your meal.

For the drink, if you don’t drink Caipirinha or Palma Louca (Brazil’s most famous beer), I would suggest you to drink Guaraná Antarctica. This drink is fantastic and only available in Churrasco (couldn’t find anywhere else in Sydney).

    Did you know?

For those of you who are vegetarians: Bad Luck, because this restaurant is not meant to be for you ^_^ The only green that you’ll see in the menu is Zucchini. They serve salad for an extra $10.50 a bowl, which I suggest not to try.
